START-UP NY

December 3, 2022

CREA coordinates Cornell University’s response to START-UP NY, which is a New York State initiative offering tax benefits to businesses that collaborate with universities and create new jobs. Companies working with Cornell partner with researchers who focus on innovation and commercialization processes. For Cornell, this program presents a unique opportunity for the university to leverage its strengths in innovation and education by helping businesses start and grow in the region. Such collaborations create opportunities for faculty and student research to be applied in a practical setting. As one of the first universities approved to participate in START-UP NY in its upstate locations, Cornell is eager to partner with companies that have connections to its Ithaca campus or the New York State Agricultural Experiment Station in Geneva.
