Rev: Ithaca Startup Works
Rev: Ithaca Startup Works is a business incubator in downtown Ithaca, NY, established by Cornell in collaboration with Ithaca College and Tompkins Cortland Community College.
This facility is open to the local and regional community, regardless of affiliation with any of the educational institutions. Rev provides critically needed space, programming, and support for local startup companies, and offers a place for student-led startups from local colleges to “graduate to,” giving high potential young entrepreneurs a place to set permanent roots into the community. Rev hosts approximately 8,000 square feet of working and event space.
Rev Members in 2018
2018 marked the fifth anniversary of Rev: Ithaca Startup Works’ founding, and the incubator made significant strides in delivering on its core mission: providing resources for startup businesses as they create jobs and foster economic development in Ithaca and the surrounding communities.
A key part of Rev’s mission is to support its member companies through mentorship, introductions to key partners, events, and educational workshops.
Rev member companies continued to grow and thrive in 2018:
- They generated $12.6 million in revenues
- They raised more than $44 million in capital to continue expansion, scaleup production, and hire more employees in 2019
- They created 106 new, high-quality jobs. These new jobs contributed to a total of 222 employees at Rev member companies
