For 10 weeks over the summer, the 13 students in the 2022 cohort of the Kessler Fellows program spread across the globe to gain firsthand experience working for startups. Now, they have returned to campus for their senior year armed with valuable new skills and connections in the startup world.

Program Overview
Jiang Fellows is an entrepreneurship program rooted in the College of Engineering. The program is open to all juniors at Cornell University that have a strong interest in entrepreneurship.
Jiang Fellows program is delivered in two phases:
- Students enroll in a 1-credit immersive course during the spring semester to explore fundamental topics in entrepreneurship and to help them cultivate their readiness for a summer internship experience at a startup.
- Students then spend the summer between their junior and senior years working for a startup of their choosing. Offers of summer funding will be made in mid-March based on demonstrated interest and commitment to the program.
During the program, students are connected to executive leadership at their chosen startup to build their entrepreneurial skills, experience, and professional network, as well as a robust network of Jiang Fellows alumni to aid them as they develop their careers.

Eligibility and Selection
Any junior at Cornell University with an interest in entrepreneurship is encouraged to apply. Visit the program website for more details.
Program Funding
Summer funding is provided through the generosity of Dr. Tianyi (TJ) Jiang ’96. Fellows will receive a weekly stipend during their internship and have all travel costs covered.
Student Commitment
The program involves a one-credit course during the spring semester, mentorship from an Entrepreneur in Residence, and a presentation at the conclusion of their summer experience.

Expanded Kessler Fellows Program Welcomes New Cohort
From 2009 through 2019, the College of Engineering’s Kessler Fellows program gave third-year engineering students exposure to the business of entrepreneurship through academic coursework, interaction with entrepreneurs in residence and a startup experience. The program has implemented some major changes for 2020: It has expanded, and is now available to juniors in any STEM field.
